Remember your Creator in the days of
your youth, before the days of
trouble come and the years approach when you will say, "I find no pleasure
in them"
Ecclesiastes 12:1

Thank
you to each and every one of the volunteers who contributed to the success of
the Back to School event on our Dell Trail property on Sunday, August
8th. Many endured the heat to set up
and take down. Many helped with
cooking and serving food, registering students, helping with the activities,
and taking pictures. Your help is MOST
appreciated. Fifty-nine 5th-12th grade
students were registered. Many others
attended including college students, parents, and youth leaders, for an
estimated crowd of 120. The time was
well spent in encouraging all attending to make good decisions in the next
year, specifically students beginning school. The
event was based upon I Corinthians 10:13 "You are tempted in the same
way that everyone else is tempted. But
God can be trusted not to let you be tempted too much, and He will show you
how to escape from your temptations."
AnyGivenDay jump started our event as we began. The
youth group from Double Springs Baptist Church performed meaningful skits and
their group "Hands of Grace" signed a couple of songs. The band Refuge 99 helped end the event
with a time of commitment. There was
one soul saved and several students and adults committing to make good
decisions in the new school year.
There are over 150 pictures on Kim Harmon's Facebook page. Thank you, again, for allowing us to enjoy
working with your students. Their energy and spiritual growth is a blessing
to those of us who work with them.
Youth Volunteers: Kim Harmon, Diane Swanger P.S. We will text and Facebook our
young people with activity dates and times.
